Arizona-specific things worth knowing
- The notary must be Arizona-commissioned. A document notarized in Nevada or California goes to that state, even if you live in Phoenix.
- Marriage records come from the clerk of the superior court in the county where the licence was issued, not from Vital Records.
- Corporate filings come from the Arizona Corporation Commission, which is unusual: most states keep these with the Secretary of State.
- Mexico is the most common destination, and usually requires a certified Spanish translation. Ask the receiving office whether a Mexico-registered perito traductor is required.
- Certified copies only. Photocopies and hospital certificates are rejected by the state.
